The student selection process should begin only after you receive your letter of acceptance from KJEC.
Six 1st and 2nd year high school students from each school will be selected to participate in the program
Students chosen for the program will be representing their school and acting as cultural ambassadors for their home community. We are looking for students who have a passion and curiosity for learning, who demonstrate an eagerness to learn and grow —and, importantly, who may have limited opportunities to travel abroad.
We are NOT automatically looking for students with the highest English level, our average participant ranges from high beginner to intermediate English proficiency. We believe in selecting students holistically evaluating their English skills, leadership skills, and character.
Chosen KJEC Teachers will lead the student application and interview process using the KJEC application resources (including application template, student interview questions, and an evaluation rubric). These resources are designed to provide fair and consistent evaluation among students from all schools.
Before finalizing the selection process, we ask that KJEC Teachers submit all students' applications and completed evaluation rubrics for review.
